When it comes to Team Spirit’s victory at The International 10 (TI10), Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov’s magnificent offlane performance on Magnus during the entire event is hard to ignore. Even though the performance was a year ago, TI10’s True Sight recently rolled out with mostly positive reviews from the Dota 2 community, and as a result, the general userbase has been inspired to recreate the playstyle that Collapse showed off in their pubs yet again. The pick rate of Magnus increased sharply from 7.34% to 9.58% two days after True Sight was released on 24th Sept. This is despite the general changes to the hero since TI10 last October, and the nerf to its spell ‘Horn Toss’ that Collapse exploited to perfection.
Dota 2 players begin picking Magnus a lot more after TI10 True Sight
On 24th Sept, the release of True Sight provided some fresh insight into how the grand final of Dota 2’s biggest event was held last year. However, it also recapped some of the exhilarating moments from Team Spirit and PSG.LGD’s 3-2 grand final.
There is no doubt that Collapse’s amazing moves on Magnus are a part of that, and Dota 2 players have taken notice and begun replicating it because of TI10 True Sight yet again.
A similar phenomenon was noticed soon after TI10 last October, as Magnus’ pick rate increased from 8.15% a week before to 23.12% shortly after the grand final. The win rate had also remained relatively flat around 47% at that time. In addition, Magnus’ cosmetic items also saw their prices rise during that time.
Thanks to Magnus’ skill set, Collapse exploited every element of the hero, specifically Skewer, Horn Toss, and Reverse Polarity, to the point where teams were always caught by surprise.
The excitement and preparation for TI11 are building up, and Team Spirit will once again be counting on Collapse to deliver some extraordinary performances to defend its title. Spirit’s campaign at TI11 begins with the group stage on 15th Oct.
